What Does Labor Day Mean to You?

Labor Day is dedicated to the American worker who puts in long hours dedicated to preserving a way of life by selflessly endeavoring to promote the prosperity and growth of a nation proudly, through their efforts

The holiday is often regarded as a day of rest and parties. Celebration include picnics, barbecues, fireworks displays, water sports, and public art events. Families with school-age children take it as the last chance to travel before the end of summer. Some teenagers and young adults view it as the last weekend for parties before returning to school, although school starting times now vary. In Fountain Hills and many parts of Arizona, schoolhas been in session for weeks.

What does labor mean to you? Our country has changed over the years and the real meaning has seemed to fade. For instance, Labor Day, to most Americans, has come to mean, and be defined by:

The end of summer
Last day to wear white
A Monday off
Back to school savings
